Happy Monday!
 I hope everyone had a great weekend. I was up to things this weekend and attended Afrofest, an annual cultural show held in Hamilton and hosted by the African Students Association at McMaster University. It's always a classy affair and this year the show was AMAZING! I have attended the show (or been a part of it) for the past 7 years and this year's show was THE best one ever! 

H is for Hermes

  I am just slightly obsessed with my most expensive purchase of the year and thankfully it is also one of the most versatile pieces in my wardrobe. I'm referring of course to my Virgos Lounge metallic jacket. The metal pieces were hand sewn onto it (because a sewing machine needle will break if used) and it makes it even that more precious and fragile. 
 Remember how I styled it with a midi skirt for Fashion week (  )?, well this time I went for a more casual look (although nothing about this jacket screams casual) and here are the results.

Interview with T-Boy AKA "Don't Jealous Me"

  In this day and age, becoming a Youtube sensation is one thing, being able to capitalize on it by remaining relevant to create an empire-well that's not something you see often.

On March 22, I had the immense pleasure of interviewing the hugely talented comedian and actor, Tolu Ogunmefun, AKA "T-Boy" AKA "Don't Jealous Me."

I remember watching his videos through the night when I was supposed to be up studying for midterms and exams at university (sorry mom). I can't even remember who exactly introduced his videos to me but all I know is I kept looking forward to the next episodes, or as he called them "Part letters".

Hello my lovelies!
 If you follow me on Instagram, then you know that this weekend, I attended Afrobeat, the University of Toronto's annual cultural show downtown Toronto.
This year's host was the amazing T-Boy of Don't Jealous Me and I had the honour of interviewing him (the interview should be up by the end of the week) and he is so fun and madly talented at what he does. My cheeks were hurting by the time he was done!
 

Spring!

Whether Winter likes it or not, Spring 2014 is officially here! Haha
We have 1 more cold week and then temperatures will start dropping but we have been getting some random days of sunshine and warmth and the day I took these, the weather was better than normal. I felt the need to sport some color to work and so paired my Asos midi skirt and H&M crop top (which is pretty warm by the way) and also added my Aldo bag for this black and yellow themed outfit.

Bits and bobs

You know how I said I was striving for perfection for the blog...well just ignore that for now! Haha
The weather has once again turned this city upside down and as I type, we're in the midst of a snowstorm and expecting about 15-20cm of snow (insert sarcastic "Yay" here).
 I really don't feel like standing outside pretending to enjoy taking some photos so I'll just share some indoor shots (yes, they are selfies taken with my phone). I hope you don't mind!
 Hopefully next week we can get some beautiful HD pictures up!

I had another photoshoot with designer MissBeidaFashions for her upcoming Summer 2014 collection and got to take home some stunning pieces! I wore the Dashiki dress to the Women's Day party downtown Toronto. I can't wait to show you the rest from her collection!

So close but so far away...

Spring please come? I'm not talking about it being "technically" Spring, but the weather also being warmer!
We had +2 degrees Celsius in Toronto and it was so cool how you could notice people were brighter and more cheerful. We've actually had one of the worse winters Toronto has seen in the past 50 years!
 Oh well, this outfit is a reflection of my anticipation for Spring 2014!

Ankara Peplum

As you all obviously know, I have the hugest obsession with Ankara! 
I'm fortunate enough to be collaborating with an up and coming designer, Miss Beida Fashion who is just amazing at sewing all these cute and unique pieces. These 2 Ankara peplum jackets are so unique and versatile. 
The first one is so fiery and of course I had to pair it with my red Asos chain bag and Rihanna Viva Mac glam lipstick.
